Robert Cecil Lindsay Montgomerie (born February 15, 1880 in London , † April 28, 1939 there ) was a British fencer .

Robert Montgomerie took part in five Olympic Games : at the 1908 Olympic Games in London , he and Edgar Amphlett , Leaf Daniell , Cecil Haig , Martin Holt and Edgar Seligman won the silver medal in the team competition with the sword. In the individual competition, he just missed another medal win in fourth. In 1912 he repeated the team success in Stockholm with Edgar Amphlett, John Blake , Percival May Davson , Arthur Everitt , Cecil Haig, Martin Holt and Edgar Seligman by winning the silver medal in the sword competition. In the individual, he was eliminated with the sword this time in the semi-finals. He finished eighth with the foil. In 1920 he retired in Antwerp in the individual competitions with the epee and the foil in the preliminary round, while he was fifth with the foil team and seventh with the epee team. 1924 in Paris and 1928 in Amsterdam Montgomerie failed both in the individual and in the team competition with the foil each in the preliminary round. In 1924 he also took part with the sword in individual and team competitions and was eliminated in both of them in the preliminary round. With the foil he was British champion in 1905 and from 1908 to 1910, he won the sword title in 1905, 1907, 1909, 1912 and 1914.
