Sándor Erdős (born August 21, 1947 in Budapest ) is a former Hungarian sword fencer .

successes

Sándor Erdős was world champion with the team in Ankara in 1970 and in Vienna in 1971 . 1973 he took with it in Gothenburg the second rank, and 1974 in Grenoble and 1975 in Budapest each third. He took part in the Olympic Games twice: at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich , he entered the battle for the gold medal with the Hungarian team and, thanks to an 8: 4 win over Switzerland with Csaba Fenyvesi , Győző Kulcsár , István Osztrics and Pál Schmitt thus Olympic champion . In 1976 in Montreal he just missed another medal win with the team in fourth. Erdős also belonged to the foil team, with which he finished the team competition in seventh place. Erdős won the Hungarian championships nine times with the team and in 1969 also once in an individual.
