Tiberiu Dolniceanu (born April 3, 1988 in Iași ) is a Romanian saber fencer .

successes

Tiberiu Dolniceanu was world champion with the team in Antalya in 2009 . He then won another silver medal and two bronze medals with her at world championships. Between 2013 and 2015 he won bronze three times in a row. In 2013 he became European champion in singles in Zagreb . At the 2015 European Games in Baku , he won the silver medal both individually and with the team. He took part in the Olympic Games twice: In 2012 , after victories over China and Russia, he moved into the final match in London with the team , in which the Romanian team lost to South Korea at 26:45. Together with Rareș Dumitrescu , Florin Zalomir and Alexandru Sirițeanu , he received the silver medal. In the individual, he finished 21st. At the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , he reached the quarter-finals of the individual competition, in which he had to admit defeat to the eventual Olympic champion Áron Szilágyi with 10:15.
