Paweł Valde-Nowak

Paweł Valde-Nowak (born May 24, 1954 in Krakow ) is a Polish prehistoric historian .

Life

Paweł Valde-Nowak graduated from the Jagiellonian University with a master's degree in 1979 . Since 1981 he has been working at the Institute of Archeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences . In 1985 he received his doctorate with the dissertation The Neolithic Age and the Beginning of the Bronze Age in the Polish Carpathians . From 1994 to 1998 he was head of the German-Polish project Reconstruction of the oldest settlements in the Sudetes . His habilitation took place in 1996 and he was appointed professor in 2003. From 2004 to 2005 he was at the University of Gdansk , from December 2005 at the Institute of Archeology at the Jagiellonian University. Paweł Valde-Nowak has been a full professor and director of the institute there since 2013. Various teaching positions also took him to German universities, for example at the University of Erlangen in 1990/1991 , at the University of Tübingen in 1999/2000 and at the University of Cologne in 2010/2011 .
