Constantin Boehm

Constantin Böhm (born August 22, 1991 in Ulm ) is a German sword fencer of the Heidenheim SB . He is German champion in the individual competition, multiple German champion in team competition and took part in the Universiade in 2015 .

Life

Böhm started fencing in 1999 at SSV Ulm in 1846 . At first he fought with two different weapons - the foil and the sword . The first successes soon emerged, like second place at the Württemberg state championships in 2002 and first place in 2004 for the first time.

In mid-2005, Böhm left the SSV Ulm and switched to Heidenheimer SB, which from 2011 - at the end of his junior years - also became his national base. Since 2010 he has been studying mechanical engineering at the University of Stuttgart . As a member of the General German University Sports Association , he was able to win the German University Championship in men's swords in 2012 and take part in the Universiade in Gwangju in 2015 .

But apart from fencing, Böhm was also successful at the university. In 2012 he and three other students won the design competition of the Institute for Design and Production in Precision Engineering at the University of Stuttgart.

In 2015, after completing his bachelor's degree, Böhm took a leave of absence from the university to concentrate on preparing for the Olympics. However, Böhm was unable to qualify for the 2016 Summer Olympics either with the team or individually .
