3D radar
Radars are often divided into two categories based on the number of coordinates to be measured. Radars that only measure distance and azimuth are known as two-dimensional or 2D radars. Radar devices that measure the elevation angle in addition to the distance and the lateral angle and calculate the height from this are called three-dimensional or 3D radar devices.
