45 Degree Woman is a Finnish rock band from Helsinki , formed in 1995.

history

The band was founded in 1995 after drummer Kari Reini, keyboardist Jan Weckström and guitarist Iiro Tuomola wrote the first songs. The line-up solidified after guitarist Hannu Laanterä and singer Mikko Viman joined them. In 2006 the debut album How to Handle the Pain was released . In 2007 the band took part in the Tuska Open Air Metal Festival . In 2009 bassist Toni Laroma and keyboardist Martti Lindholm joined the line-up. In the same year the second album Revival was released . In the same year the band could be seen at the Sauna Open Air .

style

According to Elke Huber from Powermetal.de , How to Handle Pain meets “straightforward and driving heavy rock with a US list and a subtle industrial aftertaste with modern, interesting contrasting synth programming without the kitsch factor that is otherwise typical for Finnish bands” , whereby the "scratchy-rough" Viman increases the macho factor. Thematically, the texts would mostly deal with the subject of pain. Similarities to Amorphis can also be heard in the songs .
