As a result, numerous editions and versions in other languages appeared. In 2012 it became German from Moses. Publisher and published again in 2016 by the French game producer Megableu .

Theme and equipment

The game 5 Seconds is a fast-paced party and knowledge or association game in which the other players try to complete tasks consisting of questions within five seconds by giving three answers. The game material consists of a simple game board, 6 playing figures, 376 task cards printed on both sides, 12 cards “The next one, please!” And 12 cards “New card” as well as a timer in the form of a ball spiral, which sets the time of 5 seconds by rolling balls .

Style of play

At the beginning of the game, the task cards are shuffled and filled into the card box in the same color. The game board and the card box are placed in the middle of the table and each player chooses a player color and places his corresponding pawn on the starting field of the game board. In addition, each player receives two “Next, please!” And “New card” cards.

Starting with a starting player, the other players play one after the other in clockwise order. The right neighbor of the active player draws a task card from the card box and reads the task out. All card texts begin with “Name 3…”, followed by the specific task. After reading the task out loud, he turns the timer over and the active player must give three correct answers to the task within 5 seconds. If he succeeds in doing this, he moves his pawn forward one space on the board and it is the next player's turn. If he does not succeed in this, he stops and hands the task over to the next player, who must now complete it without using terms that have already fallen from this game round. If nobody succeeds in completing the task in this round, the active player can move forward one space and then the game continues as normal with his neighbors.

Each player can use one of the special cards “Next, please!” And “New card” twice in a game and within five seconds. In the first case, the task is passed on to the next player and if the latter answers correctly, both players may move forward one space, otherwise only the active player moves one space forward. If a player plays the “New Card” card, he may play a new card instead of the current one. If a player stands on the “Warning, Danger” field, he must give 3 correct answers the next time he is supposed to complete a task. If he does not succeed in doing this, he has to put his piece down and skip a round.

The game ends when a player is the first to reach the target field with the number "12" on the game board and wins the game.
