The 7.92 × 107 mm P35 is a cartridge specially developed for the Polish model 1935 anti-tank rifle , which was developed in the early 1930s.
development
The origin of the development was the German 7.92 mm Mauser ammunition . In order to achieve a higher projectile velocity and thus higher kinetic energy, the case was greatly extended; the bullet received a tungsten core . The ammunition was accordingly very rapid, this was bought with extreme barrel wear. After only about 200 to 300 rounds, the barrel had to be changed.
Penetration performance
The projectiles penetrated 15 mm of armor steel at a 30 ° angle of impact and a distance of 300 m and 22 mm of armor steel at an angle of impact of 60 ° and a distance of 50 m. However, at the beginning of the Second World War, this was no longer sufficient to combat heavily armored vehicles.
