The 700th Anniversary Stadium ( Thai สนาม กีฬา สมโภช เชียงใหม่ 700 ปี ) is a multifunctional stadium in Chiang Mai , Thailand that was built to host the 1995 Southeast Asian Games . It was also used for the 1998 Asian Games . The association Chiangmai FC returned for the 2009 season of the Thai Premier League Division 1 back into the stadium, having previously played in other stadiums in the city. Since 2018, the stadium has also been the home of second division club JL Chiangmai United FC . Architecturally, the stadium is a porch of the stadium in honor of the 80th birthday of the king in Nakhon Ratchasima . The stadium also hosted the 2004 Women's U-19 World Cup .
The stadium's name is derived from the 700th anniversary of the founding of Chiang Mai in 1296.
