The Chiangmai United Football Club (Thai: สโมสร ฟุตบอล เชียงใหม่ ยูไนเต็ด) is a Thai football club from Chiang Mai , which plays in the Thai League 2 , the second highest division in Thailand.
Chiangmai United FC was founded in 2015 as Changphueak Chiangmai . The club started in the fourth division in 2016, Division 3. Here they played in the North region. In 2017 the club was renamed JL Chiangmai United FC . They became champions in 2017 and rose to the third division, the Thai League 3 . They played in the Upper Region in 2018. At the end of the season they became champions and were promoted to the Thai League 2 . The club finished its first season in the second division with an eleventh place in the table. In 2020 the club was renamed from JL Chiangmai United FC to Chaingmai United FC .
Stadion
The home games will be played in the 700th Anniversary Stadium (Thai: เชียงใหม่ ปี 700) in Chiang Mai. The stadium is a multi-purpose stadium and is located in Chiangmai . It has a capacity for 25,000 spectators. The stadium was built for the 1995 Southeast Asia Games. The stadium was also used for the 1998 Asian Games. The stadium is owned by the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT).
