Amphoe Mae Rim (in Thai : อำเภอ แม่ริม ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the central part of Chiang Mai Province . Chiang Mai Province is located in the northern region of Thailand .

There are six municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:
- Rim Nuea (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ริม เหนือ ) consisting of the complete tambon Rim Nuea.
- San Pong (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล สัน โป่ง ) consisting of the complete Tambon San Pong.
- Khilek (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ขี้เหล็ก ) consisting of the complete tambon Khilek.
- Mae Raem (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล แม่ แรม ) consisting of the complete tambon Mae Raem.
- Mueang Kaeo (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล เหมือง แก้ว ) consisting of the complete Tambon Mueang Kaeo.
- Mae Rim (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล แม่ริม ) consisting of the complete Tambon Rim Tai and parts of the Tambon Mae Sa.
There are also five " tambon administration organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO)
- Saluang (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล สะ ลวง ) consisting of the complete tambon Saluang.
- Huai Sai (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ห้วย ทราย ) consisting of the complete tambon Huai Sai.
- Pong Yaeng (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล โป่ง แยง ) consisting of the complete Tambon Pong Yaeng.
- Mae Sa (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล แม่ สา ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Mae Sa.
- Don Kaeo (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ดอน แก้ว ) consisting of the complete tambon Don Kaeo.
