Saraphi district (in Thai : อำเภอ สารภี ) a district is ( Amphoe - administrative district) of Chiang Mai Province . Chiang Mai Province is located in the northern region of Thailand .

Neighboring counties (clockwise from the west): the Amphoe Hang Dong , Mueang Chiang Mai and San Kamphaeng of Chiang Mai Province, and Mueang Lamphun of Lamphun Province .
history
The district was founded in 1891 under the name Yang Noeng ( ยาง เนิ้ ง ). In 1927 it was renamed Saraphi .
Attractions
- Wiang Kum Kam - historical excavation area about five kilometers south of the city of Chiang Mai. King Mengrai lived here before founding Chiang Mai.

- Tha Wang Tan (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ท่า วัง ตาล ) consisting of the complete tambon Tha Wang Tan.
