Samoeng district (in Thai : อำเภอ สะเมิง ) a district is ( Amphoe - administrative district) of Chiang Mai Province . Chiang Mai Province is located in the northern region of Thailand .

Neighboring counties (from north clockwise): the Amphoe Mae Taeng , Mae Rim , Hang Dong , Mae Wang , Mae Chaem and Galyani Vadhana of the Chiang Mai province, as well as Pai der Mae Hong Son .

history

Samoeng District was established in 1902. In 1937 he was downgraded to a "branch circle" ( King Amphoe ) and only regained full amphoe status in 1958.

Samoeng County is divided into five tambon ("subdistricts" or "parishes"), which are further divided into 45 muban ("villages").

There is one municipality with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

  • Samoeng Tai (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล สะเมิง ใต้ ) consisting of the complete tambon Samoeng Tai.

There are also four " tambon administration organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO)

  • Samoeng Nuea (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล สะเมิง เหนือ ) consisting of the complete tambon Samoeng Nuea.
  • Mae Sap (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล แม่ สาบ ) consisting of the complete Tambon Mae Sap.
  • Bo Kaeo (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล บ่อ แก้ว ) consisting of the complete tambon Bo Kaeo.
  • Yang Moen (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ยั้ง เมิน ) consisting of the complete tambon Yang Moen.
