Amphoe Pai (in Thai อำเภอ ปาย ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the northeast of the Mae Hong Son Province . The Mae Hong Son Province is located in the northern region of Thailand .

Neighboring districts (clockwise from west): Mueang Mae Hong Son and Pang Mapha districts in Mae Hong Son Province, the Shan State of Myanmar and Wiang Haeng , Chiang Dao , Mae Taeng , Samoeng and Galyani Vadhana districts in Chiang Mai Province .
The main rivers of Pai are the Pai and the Khong .
