Amphoe Mae On ( Thai : อำเภอ แม่ ออ น ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) of Chiang Mai Province . Chiang Mai Province is located in the northern region of Thailand .

Neighboring counties (clockwise from the west): Amphoe San Kamphaeng and Doi Saket of Chiang Mai Province, Mueang Pan and Mueang Lampang of Lampang Province , and Ban Thi , Mueang Lamphun and Mae Tha of Lamphun Province .

history

Amphoe Mae On was first established on April 30, 1994 as a "branch circle" ( King Amphoe ) by separating six tambon from San Kamphaeng .

On May 15, 2007, the Thai government decided to raise all 81 King Amphoe to "normal" Amphoe status to simplify administration. With the publication in the Royal Gazette "Issue 124 chapter 46" on August 24, 2007 this decision officially entered into force.

  • On Klang (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ออ น กลาง ) consisting of the complete Tambon On Klang.
  • Ban Sahakon (Thai: องค์การ บริหารส่วน ตำบล บ้าน สหกรณ์ ) consisting of the complete tambon Ban Sahakon.
  • Huai Kaeo (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ห้วย แก้ว ) consisting of the complete tambon Huai Kaeo.
  • Mae Tha (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล แม่ทา ) consisting of the complete Tambon Mae Tha.
  • Tha Nuea (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ทา เหนือ ) consisting of the complete Tambon Tha Nuea.
