Amphoe Mueang Pan ( Thai อำเภอ เมือง ปาน , pronunciation: ʔāmpʰɤ̄ː mɯ̄aŋ pāːn ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the eastern part of Lampang Province . The Lampang Province is located in the northern region of Thailand .

Neighboring districts are (from the northeast clockwise): Amphoe Wang Nuea , Chae Hom and Mueang Lampang province Lampang, Mae On and Doi Saket of Chiang Mai Province , and Wiang Pa Pao of Chiang Rai province .

Part of the Chae Son National Park is in the county, the other part of the park is in the Chae Hom district. The park opened on July 28, 1988 as the 58th National Park of Thailand . Numerous waterfalls and hot springs have attracted over 100,000 visitors so far.

history

Mueang Pan was established on July 15, 1981 as a "branch circle " ( King Amphoe ) , consisting of the four tambon Mueang Pan, Chae Son, Ban Kho and Thung Kwao, which were split off from Chae Hom County . On May 9, 1992, Mueang Pan was granted full amphoe status.

  • Ban Kho (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล บ้าน ขอ ) consisting of the complete tambon Ban Kho.
  • Thung Kwao (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ทุ่ง ก ว๋า ว ) consisting of the complete tambon Thung Kwao.
  • Chae Son (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล แจ้ ซ้อน ) consisting of the complete Tambon Chae Son.
  • Hua Mueang (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล หัวเมือง ) consisting of the complete Tambon Hua Mueang.
