Amphoe Soem Ngam ( Thai อำเภอ เสริมงาม , pronunciation: ʔāmpʰɤ̄ː sɤ̌ːm ŋāːm ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the west of Lampang Province . The Lampang Province is located in the northern region of Thailand .

Neighboring counties (clockwise from the northeast): the Amphoe Hang Chat , Ko Kha , Sop Prap , Thoen of the Province of Lampang, and Thung Hua Chang and Mae Tha of the Province of Lamphun .

history

Soem Ngam was established on August 16, 1971 as a “branch circle ” ( King Amphoe ), consisting of the three tambon Thung Ngam, Soem Khwa and Soem Sai, which were split off from Ko Kha County . On August 21, 1975, the subdistrict was given full amphoe status.

Local administration

There are three municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

  • Thung Ngam (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ทุ่ง งาม ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Thung Ngam.
  • Soem Sai (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล เสริม ซ้าย ) consisting of parts of the tambon Soem Sai.
  • Soem Ngam (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล เสริมงาม ) consisting of the parts of the Tambon Thung Ngam, Soem Sai, Soem Klang.

There are also two " tambon administration organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO)

  • Soem Khwa (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล เสริม ขวา ) consisting of the complete tambon OEM Khwa.
  • Soem Klang (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล เสริม กลาง ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Soem Klang.
