Amphoe Hang Chat ( Thai ห้างฉัตร , pronunciation: ʔāmpʰɤ̄ː hâːŋ tɕʰàt ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the western part of the province of Lampang . The Lampang Province is located in the northern region of Thailand .

Neighboring counties (clockwise from northeast): the Amphoe Mueang Lampang , Ko Kha and Soem Ngam of the Province of Lampang, and Mae Tha of the Province of Lamphun .
history
The circle was originally called Hang Sat ( หาง สัตว์ ). In 1940 it was renamed Hang Chat.
Attractions
- Elephant School ( ศูนย์ อนุรักษ์ ช้าง ไทย ) - just outside the provincial capital Lampang, the only real elephant school in Thailand (or even worldwide) that is not used for tourist purposes. About 100 adult animals and a number of young animals are prepared for work in the woods: Marching log-hauling, assistance for those mahout (elephant driver), noise habituation.

The Lampang sub- campus of Thammasat University is located in the Amphoe Hang Chat .
traffic
National Road 11 (Lampang – Chiang Mai) and the northern line of the Thai State Railways run through Amphoe Hang Chat . In the north of the district, in the Khun-Tan Mountains, is the south portal of the Khun-Tan Tunnel , the longest railway tunnel in Thailand.

There are four municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:
- Hang Chat Mae Tan (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ห้างฉัตร แม่ ตาล ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Hang Chat.
- Mueang Yao (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล เมือง ยาว ) consisting of the complete tambon Mueang Yao.
- Pong Yang Khok (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ป ง ยาง ค ก ) consisting of the complete Tambon Pong Yang Khok.
- Hang Chat (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ห้างฉัตร ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Hang Chat.
There are also four " tambon administration organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO)
- Nong Lom (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล หนอง หล่ม ) consisting of the complete Tambon Nong Lom.
- Wiang Tan (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล เวียง ตาล ) consisting of the complete tambon Wiang Tan.
- Mae San (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล แม่ สัน ) consisting of the complete Tambon Mae San.
- Wo Kaeo (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล วอ แก้ว ) consisting of the complete tambon Wo Kaeo.
