89th Infantry Division (Wehrmacht)

The 89th Infantry Division was a German infantry division during World War II . The division was set up on January 5, 1944 at the Bergen military training area near Celle . In 1944 she was involved in fighting against Western Allied forces in Normandy, France. In August 1944 the division was destroyed in the Falaise pocket.

In January 1945 the division was set up again in West Germany. The newly established division went under during fighting in the Eifel in March 1945.
