Aşık Ali Nurşani

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ali Nurşani (born February 2, 1959 in İslahiye , Gaziantep Province ) is a Turkish poet and Alevi folk singer who bears the title Aşık .

Of his numerous poems, he has only reworked a part as songs and published them on a total of 25 Turkish music albums. Some of his pieces, which have been released since the early 1970s, have already become popular. Other Turkish artists like Gülay also interpret them.

The musician, who comes from Turkey, went to Germany in 1979 (in this context his album Almanya Özel , translatable as “Germany Special” was created) and is married to a German. Their son Engin Nurşani is also a musician and, like his father, is played by Turkish radio stations.

Since an operation on Nurşani's neck, he can no longer sing because his vocal cords have been damaged. Therefore his son Engin took over the singing.
