The Sienese school was a painting movement in Siena ( Italy ) between the 13th and 15th centuries . During this time, she was one of the most important alongside Florentine painting, although she pursued a more conservative line, shaped by the Gothic . Among the most famous representatives were Duccio , whose work showed a Byzantine influence, and his student Simone Martini .
