Bartolo di Fredi

Bartolo di Fredi (* around 1330 in Siena ; † around 1409 there; also Bartolo di Fredi Battilori ) was an Italian painter.

Bartoli di Fredi painted the frescoes in the main chapel of the Cathedral of Volterra in 1380 . In 1382 he worked on the central panel (Descent from the Cross) for the Cappella della Compagnia dell'Annunziata in San Francesco in Montalcino. In 1388 he painted the triptych for the same church . He had meanwhile gained great importance and was at times a member of the city government in Siena. His son Andrea di Bartolo also became a painter and was also a member of the city government,
