Zankiren ( A-72517 ) is a peptide that is very difficult to break down by enzymes . It lowers blood pressure by inhibiting renin and is therefore known as a renin inhibitor . Zankiren is said to be used as a drug against arterial hypertension . The first animal experiments have already been completed.
