The A1 is a trunk road in Botswana that connects Ramokgwebana in the northeast with Ramatlabama in the southeast.

At the border crossing to Zimbabwe it merges with the A7, at the border with South Africa the National Route 18 connects . The road connects the cities of Francistown , Palapye , Mahalapye , the capital Gaborone and Lobatse from north to south .

In 2007 it was planned to build a toll station on the trunk road.

A section in and around Gaborone is used for the annual Gaborone Marathon .
