Aegidius Christoph from the east

Aegidius Christoph von der Osten , also written as Egidus , (* 1661 ; † 1741 ) was a Prussian district administrator in Western Pomerania . He headed the Neustettin district until 1732 .

He came from the noble family of the East . His father Joachim Wedig von der Osten was a major in the French service and heir to Pinnow , Dummerfitz and Eulenburg . His mother Anna Dorothea was born from Podewils .

He studied from 1679 at the University of Wittenberg . He later became district administrator of the Neustettin district and court judge. He resigned his office as district administrator in 1732; his successor was his son Casimir Gerhard von der Osten .

He was the heir to Pinnow , Burzen , Klein Born and other estates. He was married three times and left behind five sons, including Johann Otto Heinrich von der Osten , who rose in the Prussian army colonel, Matthias Conrad von der Osten , was the president of the Kurmark war and domain chamber, and Casimir Gerhard von der Osten , be Successor as district administrator.
