The A62 road ( English for road A62 ) is a trunk road in England that is only near Manchester to Oldham designated as a primary route , which leads from Manchester to Leeds and crosses the Pennines . It runs south of the largely parallel M62 motorway .

In Manchester the road crosses the M60 motorway ring road . Then its winding course leads to Marsden and follows the River Colne to Huddersfield . The final section up to the junction with the A58 road in Leeds touches Liversedge , Heckmondwike and Birstall .
