The AAA ( Cars , Avus , Attractions ) was a car show held in Berlin from 1978 to 2000, from 1982 onwards .

history

In 1951 the International Motor Show (IAA) moved from Berlin to Messe Frankfurt . Until 1976, a small Berlin car show that took place every two years could be shown as part of the German Industrial Exhibition . It was not until 1978 that AMK Berlin launched an independent exhibition under the name AAA - Autos, Avus, Attractions . Like the IAA, it should continue to be held every two years on the exhibition grounds under the radio tower . In 1982 it was renamed AAA Berlin - The show all around the car , in which the Avus was no longer included in the supporting program. In 1988 it was given the name AAA'88 - Auto-Ausstellung-Berlin for the first time .

With the German reunification in 1990, the fair rose to become an important event for the German and international automotive industry. The AAA'90, which took place from October 6th to 14th, was the first car exhibition in unified Germany and attracted 250 domestic and foreign exhibitors from 16 countries who presented themselves on an area of around 57,000 m² , including all German manufacturers and the most important ones international brands. The exhibition with more than 250,000 visitors, including around 45,000 trade visitors, set a new audience record. According to estimates by the organizers, 70% of the viewers should have come from the new federal states .

The last exhibition took place in 2000. The trade fair planned for 2002 had to be canceled due to a lack of demand from the exhibitors.
