The Fraunhofer Institute for Applied and Integrated Security (AISEC or Fraunhofer AISEC) is an institution of the Fraunhofer Society for the Promotion of Applied Research e. V. The Institute for IT Security Research has its headquarters in Garching near Munich . Other locations of the institute are in Berlin and Weiden in the Upper Palatinate .
Fraunhofer AISEC supports companies in securing their systems, infrastructures, products and offers. About 90 scientific and technical employees develop security technologies to increase the reliability, trustworthiness and manipulation security of IT-based systems and products. In addition to security tests on hardware and software components, function, interoperation, conformity and compliance tests are carried out in the AISEC laboratories. Fraunhofer AISEC's customers include manufacturers, suppliers and users from the areas of chip card systems, telecommunications, automotive engineering and its supply industry, logistics and aviation, mechanical engineering and automation technology, healthcare, the software industry and the public sector.
Fraunhofer AISEC works closely with the chairs for security in information technology at the Faculty of Computer Science (Garching campus) and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (inner city) of the Technical University of Munich and is networked with other educational and research institutions worldwide. Fraunhofer AISEC is a member of the Fraunhofer Group for Information and Communication Technology (IuK).

history
The institute was set up in 2009 under the direction of Claudia Eckert as a project group of Fraunhofer SIT and transferred to a research facility of the Fraunhofer Society on July 1, 2011 . Fraunhofer AISEC has been an independent institute of the Fraunhofer Society since December 2013. Claudia Eckert is the director. Your deputy is Georg Sigl, who is also the holder of the chair for security in information technology. The institute has also had a facility in Berlin since 2014.
