Claudia Eckert

Claudia Eckert (born July 14, 1959 in Duisburg ) is a German computer scientist. She is head of the chair “Security in Computer Science ” at the Faculty of Computer Science at the Technical University of Munich and head of the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied and Integrated Security (AISEC) in Garching near Munich .

Your diploma in computer science she graduated from the University of Bonn , 1993 doctorate and in 1999 habilitation them at the Technical University of Munich on the theme "Security in distributed systems ". Her research and teaching activities can be found in the areas of operating systems , middleware , communication networks and information security . From 2001 she was Horst Görtz Endowed Professor for Security in Information Technology at the Department of Computer Science at the Technical University of Darmstadt . In 2008 she founded the Darmstadt Center CASED (Center for Advanced Security Research Darmstadt), of which she was deputy head until 2010. Eckert is a member of various scientific advisory boards, including a. on the board of directors of the German Research Network (DFN), OFFIS , Bitkom and the scientific commission of the Einstein Foundation Berlin . She is a member of the Airbus Group's Supervisory Board. She also advises ministries and the public sector at national and international level on the development of research strategies and the implementation of security concepts.

She is a member of the German Academy of Science and Engineering (Acatech) and, since 2013, of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences . She is also an honorary member of the Society for the Promotion of Research Transfer (GFFT).

As part of the Science Year 2014 initiative Die Digitale Gesellschaft of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the Society for Informatics, she was honored with the award of Germany's Digital Minds . The award goes to those who drive digital development in Germany with their ideas and projects .

In 2011, the specialist magazine Computerwoche ranked Eckert among the top 100 most important personalities in the German ITC landscape. The criteria for inclusion on the list included a.
