Passenger trailer APE 4.80

The APE 4.80 is a passenger trailer for buses and was supplied by the manufacturers Gebrüder Moser + Cie and Ramseier & Jenzer + Cie, both in Bern , to the Zugerland Verkehrsbetriebe (ZVB).

history

Construction of the first car began in 1961. The body was built by Ramseier & Jenzer + Cie. In 1963 the ZVB had ten personal trailers. These were used behind Saurer 5 DUK buses on the mountain routes Zug - Ägeri (line 1) and Zug - Menzingen (line 2). The APE 4.80 had the same blue color as the Saurer DUK 5 buses, this first tranche of the APE 4.80 kept this blue color until it was withdrawn from regular service. Around 1975/76, along with the eight orange FBW buses (manufacturer designation FBW / Hess 91 U EU4A ), new trailer wagons in orange VST standard paintwork were also procured. Car number 28 (formerly number 3) is still there. It is located in the Zuger depot technology history .

All APE 4.80 have a trailer coupling to which single-axle or two-axle AGP 3 luggage trailers could be mounted. All cars were designed in such a way that the entry area at the rear also functioned as a luggage compartment; these were separated from the passenger compartment by sliding doors. In the first installment, the passenger compartment was also divided into a smoking and non-smoking compartment by means of a partition wall with a door; in the second installment, the entire car was designed as a non-smoking compartment. Both compartments were equipped with light brown leather seats.
