Medium wave antenna in Vidin , Bulgaria (ARRT type)

ARRT (from Russian антенна с регулируемым распределением тока , German antenna with adjustable power distribution ) is an antenna design of a trap antenna . It consists of a self-radiating transmission mast with a fed trap around it.

The antenna type is used in large transmitter systems for long wave and medium wave , especially in Russia , Bulgaria and Albania . The Burg medium wave transmitter also had such an antenna.

An ARRT antenna consists of a vertical trap, which is mounted coaxially around an earthed or earth-insulated transmission mast which also serves as a load-bearing element. In the case of electrically isolated transmission masts, the trap and the mast can be fed individually, which can be used to set up an effective shrinkage-reducing antenna .
