Arsat-2 is a commercial communications satellite of the Argentine AR-Sat (Empresa Argentina de Soluciones Satelitales Sociedad Anónima).

It was launched into geostationary orbit on September 30, 2015 at 20:30 UTC with an Ariane 5 ECA launcher from the Center Spatial Guyanais rocket launch site (together with NBN Co 1A ) .

The three-axis stabilized satellite is equipped with 26 Ku-band and 10 C-band transponders and is supposed to provide television and internet from the position 81 ° West from North and South America. It was built by INVAP on the basis of the Arsat-3K satellite bus (with Airbus Defense and Space supplying various components and Thales Alenia Space supplying the communication payload) and has a planned service life of 15 years.
