ASi-Profile is an extension of Autodesk Inventor for 3D CAD steel construction and is developed by the German company ITB Paul Schneider.

purpose

The CAD software Autodesk Inventor is usually used for mechanical design in mechanical engineering and plant engineering . With the additional product ASi-Profiles, the necessary supporting scaffolding, substructures, control and maintenance platforms, stair access, railings, barriers, etc., which require a more typical steel construction with many screws, can be carried out in the same construction environment. This allows a company a holistic and similar workflow and also facilitates holistic troubleshooting and control.

Use in mechanical engineering , plant engineering

ASi-Profile is useful wherever components and structures in the mechanical field are created with Inventor. The usual 3D CAD systems for mechanical construction usually lack special functions, at least in the basic software, to create constructions suitable for steel construction. For the designer, this means that, for example, he has to create access to his machine or the supporting structure or the intended control platform with another CAD software.

Use in locksmithing , metal construction

In the area of metalworking and metal construction, the task of designing and manufacturing stairs, stages, external balconies, railings and the like is often the case, whereby a customized, if not unique, structure is usually desired here as a special feature, which is more based on requirements for appearance and appearance is shaped. In addition to the simple construction of the required components, the user can also generate almost realistic image views and thus present the end product before the building is completed, which is particularly advantageous when initiating an order.

history

The first version of the software for Inventor 5 was completed in 2000. At that time it was possible for the first time to create additional programs for the world-wide spread software Autodesk Inventor . Since then there have been annual updates. From ACAD steel , one of the first 3D steel construction programs at Autodesk Autocad the basic functionality required for steel structures was (in 1993 first presented at the Hanover Fair) Basic implemented in Autodesk Inventor.

Dissemination, platform

The software is used worldwide and is sold through local specialist dealers who also take on the training and support of users. There are regular reports on the software in various specialist magazines in the field of CAD and for construction technology in the field of mechanics and steel construction.
