A World Without Thieves ( Chinese  天下 無 賊  /  天下 无 贼 , Pinyin Tiān Xià Wú Zéi ) is a 2004 Chinese film directed by popular Chinese director Feng Xiaogang and starring Andy Lau and Rene Liu .

Wang Bo (Andy Lau) and Wang Li (Rene Liu) are a thief and con artist couple. They roam the country and make a living from stealing from and blackmailing other people they meet. One day, Wang Bo starts acting strangely, and at some point they start arguing. Your relationship will be put to the test.

On the way you will find a Buddhist temple. Wang Li really wants to go there and pray, while Wang Bo shamelessly steals from those present in the temple. Again, Wang Li reveals that she no longer accepts life as a thief. Because later she reveals to Wang Bo that she became pregnant by him and that she does not want to raise the child in these circumstances.

On the way they meet a naive boy from the country, whose good disposition pleases Wang Li. She decides to accompany him on his long train journey to protect his large savings package, despite Wang Bo's objection, who is interested in this package himself.

When a notorious gang of thieves discovered the value of this package on the train, they plan to steal it. Nevertheless, they do not manage to steal the package during the entire journey, as the thief couple prevent this every time. In the end, the boy still has his package and the gang is arrested by the police. However, the trip has cost victims. Wang Bo was so fatally injured in a fight by the thieves that he died.

Months later, Wang Li had her child, and she is leaving it in the temple they went to before.

A World without Thieves is based on the novel of the same name.

This film was one of the most successful Chinese films of 2004.
