The Aachener Siedlungs- und Wohnungsgesellschaft , based in Cologne, is an association of companies in the real estate industry . The GmbH was founded on January 4, 1949 in Aachen ; the share capital is 37 million euros. Around 40 percent of the share capital belongs to the Archdiocese of Cologne .

The “Aachener” and their daughters manage a portfolio of more than 24,000 apartments in North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate and Berlin, often social housing , where the rental income is guaranteed by state benefits.

The subsidiary Aachener Grundbesitz Kapitalanlagegesellschaft manages real estate funds with special assets of more than € 3 billion.

The German housing company DEWOG also belongs to the group.

Aachener holds 94.9% of the shares in the settlement company Am Bilderstöckchen with more than 1,000 rental apartments.
