Aaron Cook (politician)

Aaron Cook is a politician from Nauru . He was a member of the Nauruan Parliament from 2013 to 2019 .

Life

Cook was elected to the Nauruan Parliament for the first time on June 8, 2013 , where he represented the constituency of Aiwo . He was re-elected in the July 9, 2016 election. He was a member of Parliament's Library Committee and the Printing Committee .

After the election of Baron Waqa as President Naurus on June 11, 2013, he was appointed Minister for Trade, Industry and Environment (Minister for Commerce, Industry & Environment) , Minister for the Phosphate Society (Minister for RONPHOS) and Minister for the Rehabilitation Society (Minister for Nauru Rehabilitation Corporation) appointed to its cabinet . After a cabinet reshuffle after the elections on July 9, 2016, he took over the posts of Minister for the Phosphate Society, Minister for the Rehabilitation Society and Minister for Nauru Utilities Corporation .

In the 2019 parliamentary election , Cook only achieved the third highest value in the vote count in Aiwo and thus missed the re-entry into parliament.
