President Naurus
The President of Nauru , officially english President of Nauru , is both head of state and head of government of the Republic of Nauru .
Choice and duties
The Nauruan parliament is usually elected every three years and elects a president from among its members, who is usually elected by the newly elected members of parliament with a relative majority after the national parliamentary elections. There is a system of government of parliament-bound executive power.
The president usually appoints his cabinet from party comrades in parliament , which - including him - consists of five to six ministers.
The chairman of the Supreme Court (Supreme Court) , the so-called State Judges (Chief Justice), appointed by the President.

Residence of the President
The official presidential residence used to be the Bush Lodge in Aiwo above the loading cranes. The building was burned down in 2001 during demonstrations against then President René Harris and his lavish financial and refugee policy. In Meneng is located on the site of another former presidential residence today's refugee camp State House as the main ingredient of Nauru Detention Center .
