One Point Zero - You're programmed (Original title: One Point 0 , also: Paranoia 1.0 , also known as, 1.0 , One Point Zero , version 1.0 and Virus 1.0 ) is a cyberpunk - science fiction film from 2004. Writer and directed by Jeff Renfroe and Marteinn Thorsson. The film depicts a Kafkaesque nightmare in which a young programmer acts as an involuntary guinea pig in an attempt by a company to try out a new marketing technique. The film was shown for the first time in Germany on July 25, 2004 as part of the Fantasy Film Festival .

When the programmer Simon J. begins to find simple empty cardboard boxes in his apartment, he goes to great lengths to secure his apartment, despite which the packages still appear. Simon tries to track down its originator and his research brings him into contact with his eccentric neighbors, a robot head controlled by an artificial intelligence , a virtual reality sex game and the possibility of a corporate conspiracy. Under the permanent surveillance of security cameras, Simon loses touch with reality and develops an inexplicable desire for "Nature Fresh" packets of milk. Then murders begin to take place in the apartment building. Simon finds out that all of his neighbors also received the same parcels but remained silent about it. They also became addicted to other products like fresh juice and farm fresh meat. A friend of Simon's courier drivers tells him about a company experiment in which people put nanomites in their brains to bind them to certain products. At first he dismisses the story as a lie, only to gradually discover that that is exactly what is happening.

One Point Zero - You are programmed was an international co-production that was filmed entirely in Bucharest , Romania . The premiere took place as part of the Sundance Film Festival in 2004 under the original title One Point O instead.
The program code visible in the film comes from version 0.9 of the Viralator program .
