Deborah Kara Unger (born May 12, 1966 in Vancouver , British Columbia ) is a Canadian actress .

life and career

Deborah Kara Unger is the daughter of a nuclear scientist and a gynecologist . Before Unger became an actress, she studied economics and philosophy at the University of British Columbia . She was later accepted into the National Institute of Dramatic Art in Australia (as the first Canadian woman) .

In 2000 and 2003 Unger was nominated for the Genie Award for A Touch of Sunshine and Between Strangers .

Unger lives in Vancouver and Los Angeles .
