Aaron Thomason

Aaron Thomason (* in Brighton , United Kingdom ) is a British DJ and music producer who has long been known under the stage name 2econd Class Citizen . Later he used the stage name Rodin for his music until he decided in August 2020 to publish music and graphic art as SunMoth .

Act

Thomason's musical work can be divided into three phases.

Between 2005 and 2017 he used the pseudonym 2econd Class Citizen. The music he published under this name was an unconventional mixture of diverse musical styles, especially hip-hop , psychedelic and folk . After his first EP, 2econd Class Citizen released his music on the small record label Equinox until it broke up. The main focus of the artist during this phase was on selling vinyl , but some publications are also available on CD . In order to advertise his studio albums, Thomason / 2econd Class Citizen often takes unusual actions. In 2012, two songs were released in the form of a strictly limited record in postcard format in order to increase interest in the upcoming album. This teaser was sold out within five minutes , mainly due to the announcement on Facebook . A few weeks before the release date of his first two albums, he released an EP. In mid-2014 he was able to contribute a remix of the song Mother Dove to the album There Were Seven - Remixes by the British jazz-hip-hop band The Herbaliser . After the album A Hall Of Mirrors (2015) he only appeared on individual remix tracks.

In spring 2018 Thomason returned with a new pseudonym: Rodin. Under this name he released his first single in May 2018, entitled Kanptown , which he described as the first preview of his upcoming album Asha .

In August 2020, Thomason announced that he would use the name SunMoth for his music publications in the future, under which he was previously active in the field of graphic art.
