Aaron of Auxerre
Aaron von Auxerre († around 813) is a Catholic blessed . From about 800 to 813 he officiated as Bishop of Auxerre .
Nothing is known about Aaron's life before his episcopate. During his 13-year tenure as bishop he accompanied Emperor Charlemagne to Rome in 800 and received the Abbey of Saint-Marien d'Auxerre from him. He had a silver and gold decorated ciborium built over the main altar of his cathedral church.
After his death, his body was buried not far from the coffin of his predecessor Maurin in the church of Saint-Gervais in Auxerre .
His feast day is September 28th.
