Abakan Steppe

Coordinates: 53 ° 43 '  N , 90 ° 54'  O The Abakansteppe ( Russian Абаканская степь ) is a steppe in minusinsk hollow in the Russian Republic Chakassien . It lies on the left bank of the Yenisei , between the foothills of the Abakan Mountains and the Abakan River. The steppe extends to a height of 200 to 500 meters and has a largely flat landscape with many small lakes and a few hills in the western part. The chestnut-brown soil and the southern black -earthareas with some Solonetz sites are mostly covered with feather grass and fescue grass. Part of the steppe is used for agriculture.
