The Abant Gölü ("Abant Lake") is 34 kilometers southwest of the Turkish city of Bolu .
The lake is located in a nature park lined with spruce and pine trees . The height above sea level is 1350 meters. The area is 125 hectares and the deepest point is 18 meters. Trout live in the water and are mentioned in the literature as Salmo trutta abanticus . The lake is fed by a few springs, by 2–3 flowing streams and, above all, by melt water and precipitation. Hotel and restaurant facilities have been set up in the vicinity of the lake.
