The Abaza Language (rare abasic ; proper name абаза бызшва [abaza bəzš˚a]) is from the people of abazins spoken. There are almost 38,000 speakers in Russia , mainly in the republic of Karachay-Cherkessia , where Abasin is also one of five official languages. There are also around 10,000 speakers of this language in Turkey .
Linguistic relationship
Abasin and the closely related Abkhazian form a subgroup of the ( northwest Caucasian ) Abkhazo-Adygeic language family .

From 1932 to 1938, Abasin was written using the Latin alphabet , and the Cyrillic alphabet was introduced in 1938 . This is still in use today.

Linguistic characteristics
Abasin is a language with a synthetic language structure . It has only two phonologically distinctive vowels : a and ə , the consonant system is very complex and extensive.

The language has the SIL code abq
. It does not have an ISO 639 code as an individual language and is listed under ISO 639 as othercau
for Caucasian languages .
