Abbot is a small moon crater with a diameter of around 10 kilometers. It is located in the rugged terrain between the Mare Fecunditatis in the south and the Mare Crisium in the north.
The crater was formerly called Apollonius K before it was officially named by the IAU in 1973 after the American astrophysicist Charles Greeley Abbot .
