Abdel Ghani Alani

Abdel Ghani Alani , also written Ghani Alani , (* 1937 in Baghdad , Iraq ) is a calligrapher of Iraqi origin living in France .

Life

Alani has lived in France for decades and is one of the internationally known representatives of contemporary Arabic-Islamic calligraphy, whose works have been exhibited in many countries. He stands in the tradition of the Calligraphy School of Baghdad and taught his art at the University of Aix-en-Provence , then at the Institut national des langues et civilizations orientales (Inalco) in Paris , and at the Atéliers des Beaux-Arts de la Ville de Paris .
