Abdelkader Fréha

Abdelkader Fréha (born October 28, 1942 in Oran ; † October 1, 2012 there ) was an Algerian football player .

Athletic career

Fréha first played for CDJ Oran before moving to MC Oran in 1962 at the age of nineteen in his native Oran . Here the striker became one of the most dangerous players of his generation, as evidenced by the top scorer titles in the Algerian championship in 1968, 1969 and 1971. While he was runner-up with the club in 1968 and 1969, he led the team in 1971 to the first championship title in the club's history. 1975 followed with the win of the national cup , another title win. In 1976 he moved to NADIT Oran within the city , where he let his career end.

Between 1968 and 1971 Fréha played six official internationals for the Algerian national team , scoring four goals.

During the ongoing construction work, the Stade olympique d'Oran, newly built in 2006 as the successor to the Stade Ahmed Zabana, which was the home stadium of MC Oran, was renamed Stade Abdelkader Fréha .
