Abdsamiya
Abdsamiya was a ruler of Hatra who ruled from around 180 to 198/199 AD.
Abdsamiya was the son of his predecessor Sanaṭrūq I and the father of his successor Sanaṭrūq II. He is known from eight inscriptions, two of which are again dated. One is from the year 192/93, the other inscription is probably posthumous and is on a statue. It dates to the year 201 AD. Abdsamiya is also mentioned as Barsemias by the Greek historian Herodian (3, 1, 3). According to Herodian, Abdsamiya is said to have supported Pescennius Niger against Septimius Severus in 193 . A statue of him dates back to before he took the throne. There are various inscriptions that mention him as the Crown Prince.
