Heike Hustede , after he married Nagel , (born January 16, 1946 in Osnabrück ) is a former German swimmer who began her career at VfL Osnabrück and later continued at DSW 1912 Darmstadt .

Career

The 1.70 meter tall swimmer won a total of 30 German championship titles from 1963 to 1972 on individual routes and with club relays. In her specialty dolphin she was champion over 100 meters from 1963 to 1966 four times in a row and then again in 1968 . In 1970 she received the sports badge of the state of Hesse . After her marriage, as Heike Nagel, she won three more titles on her special route from 1970 to 1972 . The 200 meter butterfly championships were held for the first time in 1967, where she won in 1968, 1971 and 1972. She also became champion in the 400 meter medley in 1965 .

Heike Hustede took part in the Olympic Games three times. In 1964 in Tokyo she was sixth over 100 meters butterfly in 1: 08.5 minutes, with the individual relay she was disqualified in the final. In 1968 she was sixth in 1: 06.9 minutes on the 100 meter course. Over 200 meters she finished fifth in 2: 27.9 minutes. In the tier relay, Angelika Kraus , Uta Frommater , Heike Hustede and Heidemarie Reineck won bronze in 4: 36.4 minutes behind the relays from the USA and Australia . In 1972 she was eliminated in the semi-finals over 100 meters butterfly; since Gudrun Beckmann reached the final, Beckmann was allowed to compete in the tier relay.

Heike Hustede achieved her greatest success outside the relay in 1966 at the European Swimming Championships in Utrecht . In an all-German record time of 1: 06.3 minutes, she won silver over 100 meters butterfly behind the Dutch woman Ada Kok .

For her services to sport in Lower Saxony , she was included in the Lower Saxony Sports Honor Gallery of the Lower Saxony Institute for Sports History. In addition, she was awarded the Silver Bay Leaf on November 27, 1968.
